It’s been close to two months since Chick became a permanent resident of Apartment 310. When she first arrived she was just the tiniest bit chunky, and was moving a bit slow having just come off of a surgery. Now that she’s been getting multiple walks a day and is squirmin’ and wormin’ all over the place, she looks a whole lot thinner. What a cute pup.

We had been wanting to go to a movie in the park for ages, and when one that we liked popped up at a park nearby we jumped at the chance. So on Thursday we headed over to Churchill Park to watch The Wizard of Oz on the big screen, with Chick in tow. While the atmosphere was catching, the combination of not getting there early enough for a prime spot combined with Chick’s inability to watch anything but the movie had us leaving just as the flying monkeys came swooping in.
Ever since our bikes were stolen last week, I’ve been thinking about getting a new one. I’d like it to be inexpensive and have been browsing Craigslist and perusing used bike stores across the city. I’ve heard great things about Working Bikes, a nonprofit that repairs old bikes to sell AND sends bikes to places in Africa and South America, where owning a bike could mean the difference between providing for a family or not. Pretty cool, huh? Do you bike? If so, where did you purchase yours?
PS I think it’s safe to say that Chicklet is need of a a new basket too:)
Friday after work we trekked up to Lake Mills, Wis., about 40 minutes west of Milwaukee. Chick came along for the weekend, which was spent swimming in the lake, basking in the sun and taking Chick along for moped rides.
