A while back I considered fostering a pup through PAWS, but then felt that it wasn’t right for me or Josh. Fast forward to Sunday when I volunteered and fell for Andres. On Monday he was up for a foster home, so I inquired but he already had a home set in place. But then staff asked if I was interested in Paige, a three-year old shepherd mix whose owner relinquished her because he didn’t have time for her anymore. I went for it and then panicked and wondered what I got myself into. She’s wonderfully calm and sweet now that she’s in our apartment, but I can’t help but worry how she’ll fare while we are away at work. Here’s hoping that after a week of early morning and late night events, tomorrow will be a short day. Isn’t she pretty?

Weekend in photos
With St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday, we donned some green and headed downtown to see the river turn green, meet up with some friends and watch the Badger game. I couldn’t believe how crowded the city was; there were literally people everywhere. Riding the crowded El train made me grateful for the first time that I have to drive to work. On Sunday I headed over to PAWS on 26th Street and fell for an adorable black pooch named Andres who only had three legs.

Julian
This past weekend I took another stab at volunteering with PAWS. The last time I volunteered I decided to really branch out and work with the pups who were just coming out of surgery; and it was intense. This time I simply did some walking and socialization, and it was much more my pace. And fun! Now someone go out and adopt these pups!
