Because it’s the “Chihuahua Cha-Cha” and what is better than that? Also this: the appearance standards set forth for the Chihuahua by the American Kennel Club are listed as “Graceful, alert, with saucy expression.” I’d say that about sums up my pups. To a T.

A few days ago Josh, Chick and I welcomed a tiny houseguest into our apartment. Her name is Millie and she is a sweet rescue pup from the city shelter. She is an OTAT pup (of course) that we are fostering and so far she and Chick are getting quite good at tolerating one another:)

Last weekend I headed to Chicago Animal Care and Control for what I thought was a meet and greet for a potential foster pup. She was a tiny chihuahua mix named Gracie. But by the time I had arrived she had already been transferred to another rescue (yay!).
So instead I hung out with this sweet pup in the photo above. His name is Polo and he was so lovely. When I first saw him he looked so, so sad in his cage. He is about six years old and an owner surrender, so probably pretty confused about why he was there. Once I took him outside, he was so happy and loved being in the fresh air. He’s available for adoption, if anyone is looking:)
My sweet pooch Frasier when he was no more than a year old. Now at 14, his eyes are just as piercing, if only with a few more gray hairs around his face. It’s so crazy to watch how much your pooch has grown over the years.
