Cone of shame

Yesterday morning I had to drop Chicklet off at the vet’s office for cherry eye surgery. Cherry eye happens when a tear duct “pops out” from its normal position and is visible as a small red mass (you can see Chicklet’s here). Fortunately it’s a fairly common procedure and Chick was back home at the end of the day, but with a cone of shame. She hates it so much and spent the better part of the night trying to take it off and making the most pitiful yips. Fraiser has never had to wear a cone so it was hard for me to get used to as well. Poor pup!

  1. Oh the dreaded cone of shame, it’s no fun at all. For that matter neither is a cherry eye. I hope the Chicklet is feeling better soon and doesn’t figure out that ramming you in the back of the leg w/ her cone is fun game.

  2. You’re right, it is no fun! Haha, she’s just been running into the wall for now. I can just picture your pups ramming into your leg :) Silly pups!
