The first day of fall is just days away, which means sweater weather is right around the corner. That means Chick needs a new coat and I’m torn. So I’m asking you all: which jacket do you like best? The Nor’easter dog blanket coat or the suede shearling? Both seem to have decent reviews and both are reasonably priced. What do you think? Yay or nay? Neither? Both? Clearly I’m in need of some guidance.

I like the first one because it looks like it’s waterproof. And, I like the second one because it looks like it’s warmer. It’s a tough call! For my dogs I’d probably go with the first one.
The second one looks cosier, but I guess the waterproof one would be more practical. If I was choosing, I’d have to go for the waterproof one because it rains so much here in Ireland! :-)
I think I may be leaning toward the waterproof one too!
I know! So tough. I may need to do the waterproof one though…
My vote is for the suede shearling — looks warmer with a nice collar to fit around Chick’s neck.
I like the collar too, but it’s not waterproof.

I bought the Nor’easter, and my short haired pit/hound mix loves it. It has reflective trim for night time and is easy to wash. For going out in hunting season, comes in hunter orange. Reversible, with one side water resistant nylon, the other side plaid flannel. Insulated. Easy to put on. I like the look of the shearling coat but that would be a luxury item for looks and not practical. Looks too much like a chew toy…
I ended up getting either one, but the one I did get is much more in line with the Nor’easter. I agree — the other one was just too much!
