Last week I wrote about how my phone was stolen while out walking Chick, and how grateful I was that it was just a phone that was taken and not Chick herself. And then today I read about how pet theft is on the rise, and I felt even more grateful. How someone could steal someone else’s pet is beyond me, but according to the ASPCA, it happens all the time. Olympic pups
The best part about being off this week (aside from hanging out with little Chick) has been watching the Olympics. All day. Every day. It’s been such an emotional ride just watching and I’m pretty excited that there’s still a whole week left. So when I discovered that some of my favorite Olympic athletes love dogs, I was pretty pumped. Jordyn Wieber and Ryan Lochte, two athletes that I’ve been following all week, are huge dog lovers. Pretty neat.

Back to Chicago
I arrived home from D.C. late Monday night and spent all day Tuesday lounging around with Chicklet. It was so great to visit Nicole and to explore a new-to-me city, but I’m happy to be back, enjoying the rest of the week off. I’m excited to share a few photos later today of my adventures over the weekend, but in the meantime here are a few fun shots of Chicklet enjoying her time away with my mom and her dog, Ginger. Chicklet couldn’t keep her paws off of those big biscuits :)
Washington D.C.
I’m headed to Washington D.C. this afternoon to visit Nicole, one of my best friends from college. It’s the first time since we’ve adopted Chicklet that I’ll be spending the night without her. She’s headed over to my mom’s house this morning since Josh will also be out of town. I’m so worried she’ll think that we’re abandoning her, but I know she’ll be well taken care of. And I can’t wait to see her wiggle and worm and sprint toward me when we reunite on Monday :)
