Just a few photos

Photography is not a skill of mine, although I think it would be something very cool to learn. There is something supremely touching about a good picture. Even though I came across these photos months ago, I still find myself going back to them from time to time. What do you think?

Looking back

Almost a year ago, Josh and I were scheming and planning some kind of travel adventure. What started out as a month-long journey in our heads soon turned into a much more affordable week long excursion, but it was certainly well worth it. Exploring Rome and Florence made us want to travel again and again (while also being grateful for the U.S.), so when I came across photos of this hotel in Tuscany (which is kind of more like a monastery), I truly gushed. What do you think?

Medici on 57th

A little while back my cousin and I embarked on a journey to experience Hyde Park at dinnertime. Over the last few months I’ve made it into this south side neighborhood twice (here and here), but our restaurant pick this time was the best yet.

After checking out the quaint little eateries on 57th Street, we settled for Medici on 57th. From the homey, old school vibe of the exposed brick with messages from long ago to the plethora of students and professors, this place was definitely a hit. Between her Spinach Goat Cheese pizza and my California Wrap, neither of us left hungry.

The nicest place

Last week I spent the better part of two days at a training seminar for work. While those two days were mentally exhausting, it was definitely nice to be out of the office and inside the likes of a nice hotel. Although it was just the Hilton in a nearby suburb, there’s something about being in a hotel that makes you think about exotic places and new travels. And after a busy day like today, that’s exactly what I’m doing.

The London NYC – New York City

Waters Edge Hotel – San Francisco Bay Area

Madison Hotel – Paris

The Hatton – Melbourne

A step back in time

I came across these photos several weeks ago, and was instantly charmed. I’m always drawn to black and white or old, vintage photos and this was no exception. I’ve wanted to live in Chicago for forever (hello, suburbanite), and will be the first to sing its praises (as well as faults), but there’s something about New York City that just doesn’t compare. I would give anything to go back in time.
