Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it marks the start of the holiday season, my favorite time of year; even more so than the warm summer months. Today I feel thankful that my gram is still here, even though she rarely knows what’s going on, and that I am lucky enough to spend time with my mom, dad, aunts, uncles and cousins. With the day nearly over, I have a lot to be thankful for. Even when that which feels like it is against us, is actually for us.
An old commute
Tonight seemed to be an exceptionally bad commute. The rain, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Kind of a recipe for disaster. But then I came across this photo. My commute could be a whole lot worse.
I can parallel park so I am now allowed to mock all those who cannot.

Networking, etc.
The past week has been even drearier than this day. Between fighting to fend off a mean bug (or something), I want nothing more than to feel like myself again. But first I’d love to share some photos from a work event held about a week ago. This was our inaugural Networking Event for the 63rd Street Growth Commission. It was definitely a success and we’ll be continuing again next year!
Couldn’t have done it without her!

Helping to pass out raffle prizes, ack!

My most favorite business owner ever, Noemi Salazar of Yuriria’s.

The whole crew, (minus one, plus one random guest). Can you guess who?

A dreary day
Today was such a dreary day, with the cloudy sky and the rain early this morning, that it made getting out of bed feel unwarranted. And coming back to work after a long weekend made this Monday feel especially draining. Even the book I’m currently reading (Mercy by Jodi Piccoult) didn’t make lunchtime feel any more festive. Instead, on a cold gray November day like today my mind wandered toward one of my favorite book series EVER: Madeline. An “old house in Paris covered in vines” sounds pretty nice right about now. And check out this awesome post about Modern Day Madeline.

Once upon a time
I have been known to watch what some would consider seriously bad TV: Keeping Up With the Kardashians (hello, guilty pleasure), 90210 (the original, obviously a 90’s classic), What I Like About You (uhm, Kelly Taylor reprising her role). But one new show I’m slowly becoming hooked to this season is Once Upon A Time. It’s a little strange, but I’ve found myself being sucked in for the past two weeks. Not to mention, it seems like fairy tales are all the rage this season. How cute are these modern day fairy tale posters?
