Three weeks ago today Josh and I celebrated five years since the day we met. It still blows my mind to think we’ve known each other that long, but here we are. Five of the best years.

In which I get retweeted by Sophia Bush
My new favorite TV show of 2014? Chicago PD. It’s a spin-off of my other favorite show about this city I live in, Chicago Fire. I am obsessed. But the best part about it? One of the lead actresses is Sophia Bush. I’ve been a fan since my One Tree Hill watching days in high school, but she’s also a pretty cool person who supports many causes and charities, including pet adoption. She has her own rescue pup too. And yesterday when I shared one of OTAT’s adoptable pups, Poppy, she shared her Petfinder profile with all of her followers. Pretty dang cool.

Weekend in photos
We headed up to Madison for the weekend for the last Badger home game of the season and while I remembered why I don’t generally like football (especially when I buck tradition and get peanuts instead of nachos), it was still a good time. I did some successful people watching, hated on the annoying girl standing behind me and took a walk along State Street. Chick enjoyed the fresh air and having some time to explore new sights and smells. I think she was confused when we left :)

Unknown quote.
In love with this unknown quote first posted by Emily:
“I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter, the cast-offs of human society. I saw in their eyes love & hope, fear & dread, sadness & betrayal, and I was angry. ‘God!’ I said, ‘This is terrible! Why don’t You do something?’ God was silent for a moment and then He spoke softly, ‘I have done something’, He replied, ‘I created you.’”

{This guy was brought into Chicago Animal Care and Control as a stray and is currently waiting for a rescue, shelter or foster home to take him so he can get into his forever home.}
