Lately I’ve found myself fueling a once non-existent caffeine addiction. Until recently, I’ve never been a huge coffee drinker. The combination of being back in IL where there is a Dunkin’ Donuts on just about every corner and the fact that everyone in my office drinks coffee so I feel like I should too, has changed that. Not only has my newfound addiction begun to stain my teeth, but it has also given me an unnecessary urge to stop at DD every time I see one.
This morning, however, I made a conscious attempt to get through the day without any coffee, and while I found myself feeling crabby and lagging just a bit throughout the afternoon, I successfully did it. I’m also going to chalk my crabbiness up to the countless seniors I’ve had to communicate with on the phone in the past few days. With my now depleted DD gift card and a will to think of coffee only as a twice or thrice weekly treat, I think my cravings will subside.
Now how to squelch my craving for a DD reduced fat blueberry muffin, I don’t know. Either way, I’m not sure if my true addiction is with caffeine itself or maybe just Dunkin’ Donuts.
What’s your go-to morning treat? From now on mine is going to be Frosted Mini-Wheats.
