While sometimes it doesn’t seem this way, I often feel very lucky to live in a big city and still have a car. I’m lucky enough to have a designated parking spot included in the cost of rent. I’m not so lucky to have to drive to work every day in a city that has the highest gas prices in the nation.
But, in the end it’s worth it. I can come and go as I please without having to always rely on public transit and more often than not, little Chick gets to come along too (did you know she even has her own specialty car seat?).
Over this past weekend though, I found myself without a car. I knew I would have to ride the bus later on to volunteer so I walked over to the CTA station early in the morning to fill my card up. I thought about how nice it would be to take Chick along on the bus and maybe some El rides too. According to CTA rules, you actually can, if they’re in a secured carrier. Somehow, though, I don’t think Chick would like that.
Fortunately, you can take your pet in city taxis! Who knew? But the nice folks over at Two Pitties in the City, who own two pitbulls in Chicago, have done it before. Wow! Good to know if the Jeep ever decides to fail me.
It looks like Chick sure rides in style!
Haha, nothing but the best for our little diva!
