Over the past week or so, Chick has been an avid user of the CTA, riding along on the El train like she’s been doing it for years. Continue reading

Weekend in photos
Even though you wouldn’t know it by the weather we had yesterday and today (snow in April, NBD), this past weekend was warm and filled with so much sunshine. So naturally that meant people decided to start setting off fireworks, which Chick sure did not appreciate. Warm weather also meant a bath for her, which she also did not enjoy. So I guess to sum it up, it was a nice weekend, but not for poor Chick:)
Chick says get to work!
I often think about how much fun it would be to take Chick to work with me. When I work from home, she mostly just snoozes on the couch all day (alternating between the pillows there and the blankets in her bed). For the most part she only occasionally wanders into the den to visit me. How much fun would it be to just look under your desk and see a Chick snoozin’ away?
A weekend walk
Amid a myriad of errands and work yesterday, I managed to sneak in a walk to Wicker Park with Chick. The weather was finally warm enough to not require a heavy jacket, the sun was shining and I could tell Chick was happy to get outside of her usual one block radius. She even managed to sneak a rogue Cheetoh or two (after trying to steal my donut, of course). Always a scavenger, that one:) If yesterday’s weather was a sign of warmer days ahead, I’m ready.
Chihuahua party
On Sunday, Josh and I took Chick to her very own birthday party at Chicago Party Animals. For other dog lovers out there, this is totally normal I swear:)
Chick is a member of Perry Dog’s Downtown Chicago Chihuahua MeetUp, where they regularly host puppy play dates. Usually Chick isn’t the most social of dogs, but she had a blast this time. She spent the better part of an hour scavenging and making new friends while we stood by, thoroughly amused. It’s so important to socialize your dog and this was the perfect opportunity – fun for us and fun for Chick since it was all small dogs and a low-key atmosphere. The best part though was that it was also a benefit for the Almost Home Foundation (Chick brought a bag of treats to share, of course).
