On my last day this past Friday, I learned that people, especially old colleagues, can be quite nice. It’s no secret that I have a slight obsession with all things canine and so my parting gift was not for me, but for Chick. In the form of this sweet urban pack. So when the days are warmer and the sun shines longer, sweet Chick will be responsible for carrying her own treats and bags. Now that’s a gift.

On Sunday nights
On Sunday nights when you’re disappointed that the corned beef sandwich special for $4 from the local place down the street has unexpectedly sold out and you’re forced to order a mini burger from the kid’s menu on the night of St. Patrick’s Day, you take it out on the pooch. By making silly poses of course. And then she gives you the evil death stare and you decide to just hold onto the pictures for when Monday morning rolls around and you need a good giggle.
On gray, rainy days

When the month of March just drags on with its unfortunate rain and its rude Daylight Savings trick I want to make like a pup and just curl up on the couch. Is it summer yet? This is Chick’s new favorite spot.

This week
This week will be my last week at my current job. Later this month I’ll be starting a new opportunity at a different company. While it’s bittersweet to leave some great people, I’m excited to be headed toward a brand new experience. So a few days ago I said farewell to a special little pup friend. This big guy is not even two years old and he already weighs 130 lbs. Crazy! But he sure is sweet.
Around here.
The past few days I’ve navigated the snow too many times. I mean, it is March after all, and while I know Chicago winters can be nothing short of unpredictable, I think it’s safe to say I’m ready for warmer months. Yesterday I spent a few hours at Chicago Animal Control hanging out with the court case pups, and watching Josh perfect our Badger gallery wall.
