There’s nothing better than a clean pup, and since Chicklet’s wretched cone of shame finally came off yesterday, her first outing was to the Logan Square Soggy Paws (one of the best do it yourself doggie washes I’ve been to). Since Chick is so small we get a discount and she’s easy to hold down while the other washes (not such the case with Frasier:). We were in and out in less than a half hour, complete with strawberry lemonade cologne for Chick, all for just $10; just in time for Take your Dog to Work Day!

Baby elephants are so cute
Every time I see an elephant (which, obviously is only at the zoo) I think of the Disney movie, Dumbo. But then I saw these photos of a baby elephant playing on the beach. This elephant is having such a ball — I wish I could teleport to this beach and join in the fun.

A loyal pup
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MM_OPa9oDho
Gosh, this makes me want to cry every time I see it. I saw it on the news earlier this week, and again on Steve Dale’s Pet World. There is nothing quite like a loyal dog. They are just the best.

Trip to the zoo
It was so nice to have the day off on Monday so Kelly and I took advantage of it and took Addison to the Brookfield Zoo. After getting over the shock of how expensive it now is to get in, the three of us had a blast seeing the dolphin show, watching the giraffes and penguins, and even lions, tigers and bears. Although honestly, Addison’s favorite part may have been the two playground areas. I don’t know if that park was worth the $70 it cost to get in, but she sure loved it!
Missing Paige
Like I mentioned on Sunday, we unfortunately had to stop fostering Paige last Friday; it was devastating to comes to terms with, especially since we had both already become so attached to her. We were counting on adopting her, buying her a new bed with matching food and water bowls, and lots of new treats. And I was already planning summer outings with her and Frasier, hosting doggie birthday parties and including her in Christmas cards.
She is such a sweet pup that she quickly became a fixed part of Apartment 310: sounding off her alert bark in the mornings that meant it was time to wake up, nosing you in the face when you tried to hit the snooze button, waiting for you at the top of the steps on your way back in from outside, giving you real doggie hugs (seriously, her paws latched on to your waist!), snuggling next to you on the couch and watching her ears fly back as she looked so happy darting across the park. I hope you find a happy home, Paige! We miss you.
