Yesterday night the Badgers played Arizona, and guess what? They won! Which means they’re on to the Final Four and I’m in for watching more basketball. Because March Madness just never ends. But I must admit, the game was exciting, the Badgers played hard and it was fun to watch. Not to mention this sweet story about Bo Ryan, the Badger coach, and his dad. Chick may have grumbled a bit with all the yelling Josh did, but it wasn’t anything a treat or two couldn’t fix:)

Final Four
Chihuahua party
On Sunday, Josh and I took Chick to her very own birthday party at Chicago Party Animals. For other dog lovers out there, this is totally normal I swear:)
Chick is a member of Perry Dog’s Downtown Chicago Chihuahua MeetUp, where they regularly host puppy play dates. Usually Chick isn’t the most social of dogs, but she had a blast this time. She spent the better part of an hour scavenging and making new friends while we stood by, thoroughly amused. It’s so important to socialize your dog and this was the perfect opportunity – fun for us and fun for Chick since it was all small dogs and a low-key atmosphere. The best part though was that it was also a benefit for the Almost Home Foundation (Chick brought a bag of treats to share, of course).

To Milwaukee and back
Last Saturday Josh and I trekked up to Milwaukee for the Bucks game. The Bucks aren’t so hot right now (last place, oy), but the drive up to Wisconsin is short and the tickets are the right price. Milwaukee may be close, but it couldn’t be more different from Chicago. As the state’s biggest city it pales in comparison to Chicago. After eating dinner at Water Street Brewery we were just a quick walk to the Bradley Center, where they were selling Girl Scout cookies and selling Bucks-inspired dog apparel, so I was sold:)
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Last weekend, Josh and I stood in line (okay, just Josh) for the chance to get into a free early screening of Wes Anderson’s new movie, The Grand Budapest Hotel. Tickets were free, it was an early release of the movie (it won’t hit most movie theaters in Chicago until next weekend), and there was a Q&A session with Mr. Anderson himself (think: The Royal Tenenbaums) so the line was l.o.n.g.
Josh toughed it out in the cold for over two hours, I was in it for about thirty minutes. Woops. But in the end we were lucky and got seats. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the movie at first, but as it played on, it totally grew on me and I definitely recommend it! It was also my first time at the Music Box Theatre, and I can’t wait to go back. It’s one of those old-timey places that reminds me of The Tivoli, where we used to go way back in the day growing up.
