Someone sure loves burying herself in pillows. Meanwhile, Gin realizes she doesn’t quite fit in that tiny bed. We are back at our apartment now, but I sure do miss my sweet old girl!

Weekend in photos
On Friday we attended the Houndstooth Ball and it was wonderful. Lots of money was raised, Chick made some new friends and nearly inhaled her pupcake. Not to mention the venue, Architectural Artifacts, was lovely. The best part, though, was seeing all of the wonderful dogs who were adopted over the past year, who could have just as easily met a different fate at the city shelter.

Houndstooth Ball
For my birthday last week, Josh bought us tickets to the Houndstooth Ball, the annual holiday fundraiser and celebration hosted by One Tail at a Time. Not only do sales of the tickets go directly back to the organization, but it’s a time to celebrate all the wonderful rescues and adoptions that took place over the course of 2012. I’m so thankful that OTAT brought us to little Chick — she’s definitely the best part about our 2012 — and I can’t wait to see everyone else there tonight with their pups, celebrating the same thing.

Holiday cards

I may or may not have sent this little gem out in the mail to my closest friends and family earlier this week. Thanks, Chick, for looking so happy to be there!

Two of a kind.
Since Friday night Josh, Chick and I have been spending our time out in the suburbs taking care of my sweet old Gin, who has been a part of my life since I was in fifth grade. FIFTH GRADE WHAT?! The dog that I grew up with is now a very old girl and it is sad and heartbreaking to watch how slowly she moves up the steps and how hard it is for her to jump on the bed. She sure makes little Chick (who is technically a senior herself!) seem like a spring chicken. But, these two have been getting along swimmingly and I am grateful for it.
