Safe Humane Chicago.

Richochet was chained outside with no food or water, too thin and unable to even lift his head.
Over the weekend I dragged Josh along to Chicago Animal Care and Control. Believe me when I tell you that this is not a fun place to be. I had only been here once before and it was not a pleasant experience. The facility is badly underfunded and understaffed, hence the conditions of the dog cages are (way) less than ideal. Read more

The weekend flew by, especially since I spent almost all day on Saturday volunteering for the Safe Humane Court Case program at Animal Care and Control. It was an intense experience and I’d love to share more about, which I will. But first, a few photos from the rest of the weekend which was cool and somewhat relaxing.

This past weekend flew by rather quickly, but the weather was perfect, which you can’t take for granted since we probably don’t have too many more of these warm, sunny days. This past weekend actually felt like fall, which was a nice change of pace after the record-breaking heat wave we’ve had all summer. I spent it outside with a pumpkin spice latte, my bike, a few friends and of course, Chick, who attended her very first play group just for small dogs and the Renegade Craft Fair as the ambassa-dog:)
